Brexit, COVID-19 and climate change: mapping the impact of the ‘triple challenge’ on health and well-being in wales

Brexit, COVID-19 and climate change pose challenges of national global importance. They continue to have impacts across the economy, society, health, environment, all which are determinants health well-being. Between 2018 2021, Public Health Wales undertook three Impact Assessments (HIA) in relation impact Wales. Based on these, work has been carried out map synergies ‘Triple Challenge’. This paper highlights commonalities for Wales, discusses process out, learns from it proposes actions that can be taken mitigate harm. Results indicate components Triple Challenge must not viewed as separate silos they cumulative multi-faceted impacts. affects some population groups more negatively than others present a Challenge’ nation states UK Europe. A HIA approach enable range stakeholders critically view similar just single issues but holistic whole mobilise action.
